Standing on the Ledge

So for mother's day my mom got me this book -

(source)

I'm only about three chapters in, but completely engrossed. Reading is great way to inspire one to write. I often find when I can't quite get my motor running I turn to books. Only, here's the thing. These books are finished, and finished well. It's hard to sit down and read a book that is smoothly written. It makes me feel like it's not even worth it to continue on writing.

Then I read this on the Acknowledgment page "To my first readers ... for their love and support, and for talking me off the ledge at regular intervals."

This spoke to me. This seemingly flawless novel was once a first draft. This wildly popular Author had to be talked off the edge!

I often need the same kind of support, and you guys are the ones giving it to me. I'm not sure I would be working so hard to finish this Novel if I didn't have the support I'm finding right here. Thanks for being great readers and helping me to overcome my weaknesses!

On a related note, I received another blogger award *jumps up and down, clapping hands* Thank you so much Sophi lee! You can find here incredibility witty blog here. You'll want to check this girl out, she is a Hoot!

I want you all to feel like you got this award, so I'm not passing it on to anyone in particular. If you want to grab it go ahead - you all deserve it! I'm also not writing my seven random things. If you really want to know, you can look here or here.

Thanks for the love!

I love this post. And want to help push you off the ledge.
From one aspiring writer to another :)

PS, haven't read WFE yet either, but the film looks beautiful. I want to read the book first though.

Because of the two little ones, I pretty much never go to the movies anymore, but I can't wait till it comes out on DVD!
