Listen

What's that you say? You're looking for some new music to inspire? We'll you've come to the right place.

The band Temper Trap has been around for a while, but it took me some time to warm up to their music. Dougy Mandagi has a rather high voice for a man, but it's not feminine either. It's one of those voices that could go either way.

The first time I heard "Sweet Disposition" I was unimpressed, but the more I heard it, the more I couldn't get enough of it. Eventually I broke down and bought the album. And you know what? I love it. Take a listen or two and see of your opinion matches mine.

Is there a band you love, that you once hated?

This happens to me all the time. My husband's a musician and he’s always trying to get me to listen to new bands. (He tends to like indie bands.) Most of the time when I actually sit down and give them a chance I really like them, some of them have even become my favorite bands. I love this song btw ;0)

Oh I like that!

And yeah, it happens to me all the time.

For me it was The Wailin' Jennys. First few times I heard their songs I was like "eh". And then all the sudden I COULDN'T GET ENOUGH.

Try "One Voice" or "Arlington".

It is funny how some can grow on you. I happen to like these guys. My sons have gotten me into symphonic metal. I used to hate them all, but then I heard my sons playing the music (just wished they wouldn't sing lol). But I've discovered some groups who don't shriek at you and I can enjoy the amazing music. some of the groups I used to not like but do now are Dark Moor, Rhapsody of Fire, and Nightwish.

ooh...yes! I love temper trap. Sweet disposition is one of their best songs :) I also heard that they are awesome live.
I think it took me a while to actually start liking Lykke Li's music. Now I love her songs:D

@Jenny oh! I love to hear some of your recommendations, I really liked the one on your blog :)

@Mark, I have the album, I like that one too but my favorite is Fools :)

@Michelle, I'll have to check them out!

@Donna, I totally agree that shrieking is no fun. Those all sound good, why have I never heard of them?

@Sarah, I would totally pay for your flight if I could!!

@V, I love to see them live! And totally feel the same about Lykke Li, she had to grow on me too :)

I normally don't give such a huge chance to a song. It's either in or out, but I like this one:)
