I just read your first chapter. You have a great voice, my dear. I liked the flow, the imagery, and the atmosphere. There is definitely intrigue, especially the way you ended it. You didn't start with backstory--hooray! We are seeing this world as we go along with your protagonist. Nicely done! :)
I just checked out the new draft of your first chapter. I love it, and I had to let you know. It really has come together. Is it weird that I can't help but be proud of you?
