Stirred up Love

If you've been following me for a while you probably know that I really love songs that have a lot of rhythmic movement. I'm not talking about the fast-paced clubbin' stuff. I'm talking about those singer-songwriters who make you feel like you're running in slow motion. I'm talking about songs that make you want to drive and just watch the scenery pass and think about happy memories. I'm talking about songs that make you want to create something.

I'm talking about song that, well, sound like this -

What kind of songs do you like?

I have playlists to match my mss, but the music is usually of the emo or industrial variety. But then ... the stories I write have very similar qualities. Thanks for sharing your tastes--I really like this song (listening as I comment)

there's something nice about his songs and there's also something that never got me addicted to his music. Dunno why. But this is a good song :)

Oh, that's gorgeous. I need to be better about new music. I keep playing my old CDs. It might be time for Pandora. *hides head in shame that I don't have it yet*

Very nice, but now you've got me thinking of my favorite band's song of the same title...U2!

@Sarah Glad you like it! I like emo sometimes too, for those torturous scenes :)

@V I know what you mean, I don't like all his music but this one song caught my attention. Nice to see you back :)

@Christa Pandora? You're living in the stone-age! Spotify is where it's at now. You can find me talking about it under the post title More Music Please. And, your welcome in advance :D

@Krista Have you heard the inception soundtrack. It's my new favorite when it comes to film scores :)

@Jenny S. Morris I love it! A woman after my own heart :)

@David Powers King lol! Abby said the same thing! It must be becasue we all became best buds at the conference :) It's still funny, regardless :D

@Mark Noce Oh yes, I have love/hate relationship with U2 I like them, but it really depends on my mood. I'll have to look that one up and give it another listen :)

You describe this song so well. I have never heard it but it's wonderful. I would love this for a drive through the canyon to look at the scenery. I love all kinds of music but this kind is among my favorite. Smooth and relaxing but great rhythm too!

I can't listen to medium slow songs like that. I think its because you can't dance very nicely to the tempo/time signature. I need super fast clubbing music (clubbing in SF makes you addicted to it) or extra slow songs (like waltzes).

I like different styles, depending. Rock and roll, jazz, r&b. Best of all is when it's seen and heard live :)

Here is one that I have recently fallen in love with. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvCr1UAcPc4
The video is neither here nor there for me. It is the sound, the emotional content that fascinates me.

As with books, I enjoy all different kinds of music (with certain limitations), but music that really gets through to me tends to have a primal sort of beat. That can encompass a lot of different genres. When I'm writing, I have a specific song list that seems to go hand in hand in with the story.
