How Can Life Get Any Better?

Sometimes you find a song that just makes you smile. Other people might not get it. The lyrics are weird or they don't like the beat, but for some reason you just can't help but like it.

That's my experience with Nik Day's How Can Life Get Any Better? He's a local artist who I happened to stumble across when a friend mentioned him on Facebook. I don't think the song is the best there ever was (although he has other songs that I really enjoy), but it still makes me smile.

What are you smiling about today?

No bosses in the offices. (I'm so happy at this time that I just had to rhyme.)

Ah! This is a cool song! Never heard it until now, but you're right... sometimes the lyrics just get to you. :)

And yeah, I have seen the Blindside. LOVE that movie. Tim is good in that too, but I think he has an even tougher character to play in Country Strong. I was impressed he could pull it off.

I'm smiling because today is a Monday/Thursday for me. Always makes going to work easier when you know it's the first and second to last day :)

Today, I am smiling because it has been a great day. I have worked most of the day, but across lunch hour, the most glorious sun shone over the Northumberland hills and I got out to walk in it. Loving the mild autumn we are experiencing.

I know what you mean. And when I find one that I love like that, I just want to listen to it three or four times in a row. Nik Day's got a nice voice.

I like it. I've been listening to a lot of piano based music, because of one of my characters.

Smile because I have tea. I really should move to England.

My kids had a full day of school after a whole week of short days! Hurray! I have one more day of school then they come home for a five day weekend. That just sounds weird.
AND I'm almost done with NaNo...but the book will take another 10K, I estimate.

I feel that way about "Spending the day in the shirt that you wore" even though it is soooo old:)

This is lovely. So lovely that I'm going to nab it for one of my musical stories :-)

I am smiling because I just had SO MUCH FUN going out to eat with my husband and kids. On the way home we listened to Kidz Bop 18 (because we are just that cool), and my kids sang all the parts together perfectly-- even my middle child who rarely lets us hear his singing voice-- and it was so funny and awesome at the same time. And all was right with the world.
