N is for Never Forget Why You're Blogging

It's the A-Z challenge and I'm focusing on blogging tips. Today I wanted to address something important, the reasons we blog.

Blogging can be overwhelming, time consuming, and stressful. It can be easy to get upset at things said or frustrated when nothing's going right.

Sometimes all of those things have to be shoved to the side and we have to focus on what we do know, why we blog. My reasons for blogging have changed over time, but I know from experience that blogging is something I can't go without for very long.

Whenever I feel down and frustrated I remember all the awesome things in the blogging world and I keep going, becasue that's what bloggers do, push on through the hard stuff.

So, even though the A-Z is overwhelming, and I'm going to be out of town for the next 5 days, I'm not quitting. If there's any tip a blogger needs to know it's this: it's all worth it in the end.

Why do you blog?

While I blog because I am an author and this is my established platform, the main reason is to support my blogger buddies.

Why I blog... to connect with other writers ...to practice my craft...and to learn as I post.

Enjoy your vacation!

Plenty of reasons to blog! See how many years in a row I can go, test new story ideas, weigh in on heavy topics, and entertain my little audience?

I just can't shut up and this is another format to make people listen to me, lol. Really, though, I love the online friendships I've made.

When blogging starts to bore me or seem like too much of a chore, I know it's time to change it up a bit. That usually does it!

N can also stand for networking. That's why I started blogging. And I've met such wonderful people! Like you.

I don't know if it's all worth it, or what blogging is even worth...is it measured in dollars? Validation? page views? LOL.

All I know is that blogging gives me a community that I can voice an opinion. In real life, no one listens to my opinion.

I just started blogging one day and now I am hooked! No rhyme or reason :)

I call social networking 'catching up on my correspondence'. It is the first thing I do in the morning, and I only give myself a little time to do it, but it is how I can face the rest of my day!

Great things to keep in mind! I'm not really sure why I blog....probably for the instant fame and riches, of course. :)

I started blogging to try to get myself more organized and into a better writing routine.

I like being connected to other people who "get" me. This community is a great one. That's why I blog :)

I started my current blog when I was resuming my long-deferred dream of being a published writer. My old Angelfire site started as primarily a resource for other young female Who freaks.

I blog because I love being in touch with other like-minded people. I share a lot of writing related things that my friends in the real world wouldn't understand.

Annalisa took the words right out of my mouth. Also to keep in touch with bloggers around the world.

I blogged before I decided to take another try at writing. It was a great outlet, and I met some good friends from doing it.

I blog because I love rubbing shoulders with people who are going through a lot of the same things, swapping advice and encouragement!

I feel like I'm in therapy here reading this. Sometimes I feel like I have to remind myself about why I blog. Thanks. :)

Love this advice! Writing is an extremely lonely hobby, and it's always especially lonely when I'm not blogging. So, huzzah for writer friends. :)

It can be so hard if we forget why we blog! I blog to support others, share my nerdness and a bit about writing. :)

I don't blog much nowadays--my hands are too full and I only have enough time to use the computer for writing. Blogging does take time and effort, and it's not really the part about posting that's difficult, it's the part where you have to visit and read other blogs that eats your time. S easy to spend a lot of hours just catching up on blogs.

Still, I enjoy blogging and reading other blogs. I value this community a lot, especially because it's through blogging that I found many wonderful friends.

For the moment, blogging is not my biggest prioity, but I know that in the future, when life settles down a bit (i.e. baby boy is a little older and easier to take care of), I'll be back to being more active in the blogging community.

Enjoy your vacation! :)
