NaNo Update and Captcha Craptcha Day!

The ever brilliant Shelly and Chad have come up with a blogfest that will make all bloggers, everywhere, happy and sane people. It's called the Captcha Craptcha Day!

Photobucket

The point? To let other bloggers know how much we hate the little word verification boxes. All we want to do is make a comment!

Please, for the love of all that is holy and good, turn them off! If you don't know how, here's a post I wrote about it - Turning off word verification on Blogger.

If you're worried about spam, change your settings to verify comments before they post! Truth is, Blogger has an awesome Spam filter. Even if you get a spam comment to your e-mail, chances are it never posted on your blog. You should be out of excuses now - so hop to it!

Moving on... We're almost halfway through the month of literary abandon. Here's my stats so far -

Words written: 23,000 (I don't write on weekends so my Monday stats will always be a little low)

Days Left: 18

I'm trying to finish before Thanksgiving and I may just make it at the rate I'm going, as long as I can keep writing 4,000 words a day. Wahoo!

How are your goals progressing?

I almost participated in this. Count me in as one who hates captcha. Sometimes it can take me 4 or more times to get the stupid code right. I've never used it with my blog and thus far, knock on something wood-like, I've not had spam. Plus, I just loved the little animated badge with this.

I missed it or I would've participated!

Wow, 4,000 words a day is AMAZING! Oh, and I totally agree about Captcha--it took me almost 10 tries the other day to post a comment on someone's blog! It's so fast and easy to do, people, so just do it! :)

Congrats! on your writing. That's a lot of words! And I'm just glad that Captcha thing is over. I'm really tired of seeing that ridiculously stupid looking face.

LOL, I love this idea! And I love James Vanderbeek or however you spell his name is a big anti-captcha fan! :)

I passed 10K this weekend. Still behind, but I went from 1100 on Friday morning to 10K yesterday. A pretty good jump all things considered.

BOO word verification!

Thanks for the shout out Jennie. And a big thanks to James Van Der Beek.

If you don't mind I'm going to point people to your removal post as well.

Like Emily sad...Boo! Anyway I'm behind on Nano but that's because of a fall I had last week.

Captchas are beyond annoying and frustrating. It's even worse when you have to go through that, and then get a message saying your comment will only be visible after approval.

I put aside one WIP and began another on 5 November, and have written over 9,000 words so far. I'm glad I switched.

Cool! Found you on NaNo. Great job WriMo-ing. I'm almost there. Maybe a couple days away from winning my first one.

CAPTCHA craptcha day is such an excellent idea. They are so incomprehensible half the time that I started using a a browser extension CAPTCHA bypass program called RUMOLA. It just fills them in for me and has made the internet a much less frustrating place!

Also, I haven't heard of this NaNo project before, it sounds like excellent writing inspiration! Must join next time!

I hate the capcha's. And people still have them. Why, I ask you? WHY? *cries*
